DAY TWENTYSIX: bummed

I have to restart.
I picked off all the dead skin from all over my face and popped anything that was poppable.

:(

Why do I do this to myself?

  2. I am fifteen and have had acne and dermatillomania since I was nine years old. I just started the caveman regimen about a week ago and have been seeing great results. My skin itches and is flakey and slightly oily but I think all of the symptoms that you face on the regimen are a part of the healing process and must not be interrupted. In my opinion, and mind you I am not an expert or a doctor and haven't been doing this for very long, I think that you should not let water or anything touch your face at all. This means no urine, no aloe, no yogurt, no makeup, nothing. I know, being in your position, that your skin probably doesn't look good but honestly, letting your skin heal itself naturally for a week will do a world of wonders and will make it look better faster in the long run. Take a bath instead of a shower. Don't touch your skin and avoid mirrors so that you won't be tempted to look and start picking. I know it sounds horrible but trust me- I suffer from dermatillomania and this is the only thing that has ever helped me stop picking. I wouldn't stop exercising either. The sweat will purge your body of toxins and the acid mantle that you are trying to rebuild will stop the bacteria from growing if there even is any. Most bacteria to be honest is beneficial. I hope that this helps. Again, these are just my opinions. I'm no expert, I've just done loads of research.

  3. hi Katie Brenner, i was just wondering because i exercise daily and get my sweat on, i have been splashing my face with cool water and let it air dry, but my skin still looks like crap its been over a month that ive been doing this i also eat healthy ,, i dont understand what im doing wrong i get that the caveman regimen requires nothing no water nothing but what should i do after my workout just leave the sweat there to dry up on my face? i'm just scared to leave the sweat on my face without washing it off. please just let me know what you think about the whole sweat deal lol ... thank you :)
